Outlines is a sextet led by saxophonist Dee Byrne featuring some of the fines improvising musicians in the country. Byrne’s compositions consist of short musical sketches, influenced by visual art sketches, that act as a springboard for the group to creatively explore new directions through their improvising.
Ed Garden is a graduate of the jazz course at Birmingham Conservatoire who has made a name for himself as an improviser appearing alongside musicians such as Mark Hanslip, Barry Edwards, and Steve Tromans. To complete this trio Garden will be joined by Bruce Coates and Trevor Lines, two musicians who are well known and highly respected members of the Birmingham improvising scene.
