‘It’s Great to be Young’ has appeared previously at Fizzle as a duo consisting of guitarist Andy Bole and bassist Trevor Lines. Both are multi-instrumentalists with hugely varied careers that span jazz, folk, improv, rock, and beyond. For this performance they will be joined by harpist Gina Taylor, a recent graduate of Birmingham Conservatoire and alumnus of Trevor Lines’ improvisation module.
‘Abyssal Trio’ is a young trio of graduates from the jazz course at Birmingham Conservatoire. Trumpeter James Gardener, guitarist Tom Pountney, and drummer Jonno Gaze are all highly-skilled jazz improvisers that have joined forces to explore music at the freer end of the improvising spectrum.
