Digbeth First Friday- Slavic Beats and Arabic Jazz

Yes, Centrala is reopening! For Digbeth First Friday and West Midlands Weekenders Eastern European Folk musicians teamed up with an Arabic Jazz Trio for a night to remember as part of our comeback!

Jobe Sullivan Music Selection brings you a Central & Eastern European special, bringing a mix of lively, moving and powerful instrumentals and songs from around Europe. Tsuras solos from Ilias Lintzos, scintillating violin from Edwin Podolski, riveting accordion from Andrzej Rogowski, gypsy-guitar musings of Stefan Stefanov and a multitude of instruments from Jobe Sullivan Music. Expect Bulgarian Horos, Polish Waltzes and Hungarian Czardas.

The Arabic Jazz Trio will feature Katie Stevens (clarinet, ney, flutes), Sam Slater (oud, guitar) and Joëlle Barker (darbuka, riq, percussion), three of Birmingham’s most exciting musicians come together in this new instrumental trio, with music inspired by Arabic, jazz and Middle Eastern folk influences from artists including Anouar Brahem, Rabih Abou-Khalil and original arrangements.



The event will take place outside Centrala from 7-9pm and booking is necessary.
We will adopt social distancing rules ensuring the event is safe for everyone,  we will also ask you to be respectful to people around you and comply strictly with social distancing rules which will be clearly displayed on a day. Our bar will be open with table service and card payments only!
