In 2018 Sylwia was awarded the a-n Development Bursary to create links with the Caucasus art scene. She lives and works in London.

Sylwia is interested in forms that are somehow changed from their original self. Sylwia is looking for added meaning, by time by cover, by place. The same subject will look differently when covered by a sheet of plastic or cloth, loosing its context but gaining an uncertainty. It is easy to imagine monstrosity in the unknown. We distrust a hidden object or person. Our imagination will fill the gaps. Our preconceptions give meaning where none may exist. She likes to explore this misdirection and gullibility. She examines people and their forgotten stories, joining bits and pieces to reflect on reality and on lost historic tales.
