We take BEAST into the city for this Centrala take-over weekend and welcome sound artists, composers and researchers for two evening gigs that explore the huge breadth of creativity and sub-genres in the world of electroacoustics and sound art.

Anna Xambó is an experimental electronic music producer and researcher. Biased for being passionate about extreme digital minimalism and a past performer on bass guitar, she likes to explore the boundaries of digital sound focusing on low frequencies, compulsive rhythms, and noisy textures. Her research and practice concentrate on creating sound and music computing systems looking at novel approaches to collaborative, participatory, and live coding experiences. To date, she has released three solo recordings: ""init"" (Carpal Tunnel, 2010), ""On the Go"" (Carpal Tunnel, 2013) and ""H2RI"" (Pan y Rosas, 2018). Her solo and group performances have been presented internationally in China, Denmark, Germany, Norway, Spain, Sweden, UK and USA. She is currently a Senior Lecturer in Music and Audio Technology and a member of the Music, Technology and Innovation - Institute of Sonic Creativity (MTI2) at De Montfort University.

Milad K. Mardakheh is an Iranian Composer, Sound Artist, Programmer and Researcher, based in Birmingham, UK. Milad has an undergraduate background in computer engineering, as well as an eclectic record as a composer and musician within Experimental Electronic/Electroacoustic, Rock/Metal, and Film/Theatre music. He recently completed his PhD in Music Composition at the University of Birmingham (BEAST), focusing on Science-Art and Computer/Data Music composition using the sonification of data, derived from the bio-molecular research of cancer cells. His Practice involves the creation of custom-built composition and performance interfaces in Max/MSP, and bringing together various tools to create improvised, data-driven, noise-based and synthetic sound-worlds.
