Centrala announces their next I-CLAIM exhibition, ‘Home. Delivered.’ by Radu-Mihai Tanasă.
“Home. Delivered.” is a video work by artist Radu-Mihai Tanasă. The plot follows the delivery shift of one unnamed, masked character who is carrying a big boulder from one place to another around Utrecht and its vicinity. The work shift revolves around picking up and delivering orders while answering weird phone calls. Throughout the journey the internal monologue of the main character can be heard, commenting on the feelings and thoughts one feels during such a job.
The film is shot in low resolution on an old Cannon camera as a nod to Hito Steyerl’s essay “In Defence of the Poor Image”. The atmosphere is reflective, slightly surreal and slightly nostalgic.

This exhibition is a part of I-CLAIM project which investigates the living and working conditions of irregularised migrant households in Europe from an intersectional perspective. It aims to reveal the spectrum of irregularity in contemporary Europe and cast light on the everyday experiences of migrants. I-CLAIM develops the concept of ‘irregularity assemblages’ to capture how migrants’ ‘irregular condition’ is produced by the interplay of immigration and asylum laws, policies and practice, wider labour market and welfare regimes, and political, media and public narratives. The irregular condition is shaped by migrants’ social position and positionality as well as by processes that occur at international, European, regional and local levels.
Radu-Mihai Tanasă (b.1999 in Iași, Romania) is a visual artist and graduate of the Visual Arts and Post-Contemporary Practice MA programme at MIVC den Bosch, the Netherlands. His work encounters different media, varying from sound to painting and from video to performance; each of them acts as a visual statement, allowing for each technique to accomplish a different goal.
