Move on Support
All Ukrainians arrived in Birmingham under Homes for Ukrainians scheme who live with the sponsor are entitled to support from Birmingham City Council:
Move on grants
Move on support grant £3000 to £4,000 to help people moving into new homes from Birmingham City Council.
Who is Eligible
Ukrainian households in Birmingham who:
1. Are participants in the Homes for Ukraine program in Birmingham.
2.Have been hosted in Birmingham since they joined the program.
Funding breakdown
- If your household hosts 1 to 3 guests, you can receive up to £3,000.
- For households with 4 guests, the grant can be up to £3,500.
- If your household accommodates 5 or more guests, you can receive up to £4,000.
What is covered
The grant can be used to cover various expenses, including:
Holding deposit fees, rent deposit invoices or receipts (related to tenancy deposit schemes), and rent in advance.
Purchasing furniture, household items, and large appliances like fridges and washing machines.
Covering moving costs.
Paying initial bills for energy, water, and council tax.

Please note that these funding amounts represent the maximum you can claim to cover your expenses related to securing a property.

Accommodation
Birmingham City Council partner- Spring Housing is providing advice and guidance regarding housing and housing services and assist Ukrainians to find, apply for and move on into independent housing. Assistance is also offered in relation to applying for the ‘move on’ financial package of support.
