Finance Officer

Job Title: Finance Officer

Responsible to: Director

Location: Centrala Space and Birmingham-wide outreach

Weekly Hours: 16 h/p week

Job type: Part-time

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Processing payments, invoices, income, and receipts and entering data into QB and filing hard copies
  • Preparing financial statements showing business income and expenditure
  • Paying invoices and tracking bank account balances
  • Helping with completing VAT returns
  • Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting of any errors
  • Recording any inconsistencies to help reconcile inaccuracies
  • Developing monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss and balance sheets
  • Preparing employee salaries
  • Production of company invoices for services provided in accordance with contracts
  • Preparing invoices in line with company’s procedures
  • Managing employee expense claims
  • Helping with administrative duties and preparing yearly accounts
  • Inputting financial data into QuickBooks
  • Preparing and assisting managers with budgets for various projects
  • Maintain effective and efficient management systems to support the work of the department
  • To adhere at all times to the Centrala’s policies and procedures
  • To carry out duties in accordance with Centrala’s Equal Opportunities, Access, Employment, Health and Safety and Inclusion Policy
  • To carry out any other duty as directed by the line manager, in accordance with the level of the post

A little bit about you:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience of financial administration.
  • Be competent using packages such as Excel, Word and accounting software ie Quickbooks (Essential)
  • Have a flexible attitude and work ethic.
  • Have an outgoing nature and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small friendly, professional team.
  • Have excellent organisational skills.
  • Be driven by new challenges.
  • Have good attention to detail.
  • Be a self-starter able to work with minimal supervision but also capable of working as a member of a team;

Part-time hours: 16 per week

Salary: £24,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
