Finance Officer
Job Title: Finance Officer
Responsible to: Director
Location: Centrala Space and Birmingham-wide outreach
Weekly Hours: 16 h/p week
Job type: Part-time
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Processing payments, invoices, income, and receipts and entering data into QB and filing hard copies
- Preparing financial statements showing business income and expenditure
- Paying invoices and tracking bank account balances
- Helping with completing VAT returns
- Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting of any errors
- Recording any inconsistencies to help reconcile inaccuracies
- Developing monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss and balance sheets
- Preparing employee salaries
- Production of company invoices for services provided in accordance with contracts
- Preparing invoices in line with company’s procedures
- Managing employee expense claims
- Helping with administrative duties and preparing yearly accounts
- Inputting financial data into QuickBooks
- Preparing and assisting managers with budgets for various projects
- Maintain effective and efficient management systems to support the work of the department
- To adhere at all times to the Centrala’s policies and procedures
- To carry out duties in accordance with Centrala’s Equal Opportunities, Access, Employment, Health and Safety and Inclusion Policy
- To carry out any other duty as directed by the line manager, in accordance with the level of the post
A little bit about you:
- Have a minimum of 2 years experience of financial administration.
- Be competent using packages such as Excel, Word and accounting software ie Quickbooks (Essential)
- Have a flexible attitude and work ethic.
- Have an outgoing nature and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small friendly, professional team.
- Have excellent organisational skills.
- Be driven by new challenges.
- Have good attention to detail.
- Be a self-starter able to work with minimal supervision but also capable of working as a member of a team;

Part-time hours: 16 per week
Salary: £24,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
