Slavic Reflections: Portrait Photography & Empowering Slavic Roots

Workshop organised by Centrala and Reimagine Redditch.

Join us as we celebrate heritage and the strength of women in Slavic culture at a unique photography workshop with artist Ieva Baltaduonyte, as part of the “Slavic Roots” project. These workshops will allow you to explore and familiarize yourself with Slavic culture, and renew appreciation for our heritage.

Ieva Baltaduonyte (b.1988 in Kaunas, Lithuania) is a lens based artist and graduate of the Photography BA programme at the Dublin Institute of Technology. Informed by her own personal experience of displacement, her artistic practice engages with topics and issues relating to migratory culture. Central to her work are the psychological consequences of migration, such as displacement trauma, as well as the concepts home, identity and the in-between state. After spending seventeen years living in Dublin, Ireland, Ieva has recently returned to her native Lithuania, where she is currently based.

The event will take place in an atmosphere of acceptance and mutual support, providing a safe space for women to explore their beauty and discover their roots.

An exceptional photography session will reflect your beauty and connect it with the meaning of womanhood in Slavic culture.

During the workshop make up artis will be supporting women to create Slavic authentic look.

We also will be creating traditional flower crowns.

We welcome all women who want to feel confident and beautiful, experience a new transformation, and connect with our amazing community!

Portraits will be displayed in local library.
