Join us at Centrala for an afternoon of creativity, reflection and connection as part of Healing Arts Birmingham.
Healing Arts at Centrala brings together a creative wellbeing workshop, exhibition and film screening exploring themes of identity, memory, migration, belonging and personal resilience.
Led by artist Roo Dhissou, the creative workshop invites participants to create their own personalised pocket object using collage, drawing and craft techniques. These small keepsakes are designed to offer comfort, encouragement and a sense of connection in everyday life, inspired by positive memories, culture, heritage and personal experiences.
Participants will also create a take-home wellbeing kit including their handmade object, reflective journal prompts, a positive affirmation and calming tea.
Alongside the workshop, visitors are invited to explore an exhibition and film screening reflecting on migrant experiences, identity and belonging. Through art, storytelling and shared experiences, these elements create opportunities for reflection, conversation and connection.
Whether you come to make, watch, reflect or simply spend time in a welcoming community space, this event offers an opportunity to slow down, connect with others and engage with creativity as a tool for wellbeing.
