Spacejunk Solarpunk: The Story So Far
For 20 years, Falling and Laughing have been a band and they have produced a few EPs which can be found in the usual places on the internet, but mostly bandcamp.
“Once we had made the last EP (Starport), we released it during the pandemic. It was some time before we got back together to practice. By this time we had enough songs to make an album. So the process of recording this started in Nottingham at JT Soar on 8th July 2023. Lots of love, time and care went into sessions recording, mixing and mastering. We agonised over track listing and decided that we wanted the end product to be on vinyl; something we have not done before.
Getting to this point has been a wonderful process and putting on an evening gig to celebrate its launch didn’t seem to be enough. So that is how we got to the all-dayer. The next step was to ask bands to play that we have been connected to throughout the past 20 years. We sent out some messages in hope and were bowled over by the responses from the bands. We are so excited to share the music we have been working on and to celebrate the start of this with such wonderful musicians.
However, it’s not just about the music. Playing and recording music brings you in contact with a community of people, all with artistic visions to share. So the all-dayer will involve artists, too. Lastly, Centrala’s community focus and artistic vision seemed like the perfect place for this event to be held
