This one features a new collab between Chicago based Matthew Dotson and DMC founder Si Paton
Matthew Dotson has been actively performing and releasing music in the American underground since the early 2000’s. Although possessing a doctorate in Music Composition from the University of Iowa, Dotson has since distanced himself from the western concert music tradition in light of the exigencies of the 21st century. Truly genre-agnostic, he is primarily focused on the emotional/perceptual transformations that accompany shifting blocks of continuous sound. Although the bulk of his released output is electronic in nature, Dotson’s interest in ubiquitous materials has led to a recent focus on the electric guitar. As always, the process, form, and narrative implications inform the treatment of the material.
