Thnkng/Nt Thnkng Presents: Parachute for Gordo + More
In the run up to our annual festival (more details on that soon - keep yr eyes peeled) Thinking/Not Thinking Fest is super excited to bring back one of our favourites Parachute For Gordo and a couple of new faces we finally have an excuse to put on
Parachute For Gordo are an independent rock band from the thriving cultural capital of Aldershot in Hampshire; making post-rock with an ecstatic grin on its stupid, sweaty face. They explore a sunshine spin on the genre, their math-fused meanderings chock full of a jaunty and infectious positivity. Parachute for Gordo is Laura Lee (guitars, pedals), John Harvey (bass, “vocals”) and Mark Glaister (drums, production).
Parachute for Gordo have played extensively around the country with bands such as And So I Watch You From Afar, Jamie Lenman, The 1975, Physics House Band, Gallops and Adam Betts. They have played live on BBC Introducing The South, appeared at the Victorious and Always the Sun festivals and have been featured in Music Tech magazine and on sites like Already Heard, Punktastic and The Skinny. In 2018 they worked with producer Mark Roberts (Physics House Band, Black Peaks, Delta Sleep) on new material due to be released in 2019.
Rare solo improv/ambient set from James of Mutes as his full band prepare LP3
Zygmund de Somogyi
Equally at home in the world of rock and metal as in contemporary classical music, Zygmund de Somogyi is a pianist and composer bent on merging the immersive sounds of post-rock and heavy metal with the contemplative style of minimalism and modern classical music.
HumourJail is the solo project of Brighton musician Weezey Jaye (Exploder; The Guts). A set-piece of loops, vibrato, rhythmic vulnerability, drowning in beer and other people's feelings. Frank, confrontational guitar songs made by a drummer.
