Romanian artist Radu-Mihai Tanasǎ presents ‘Home. Delivered.’ (2026). At first glance, Home. Delivered. appears to follow the routine of an ordinary courier making deliveries across the Dutch city of Utrecht. But as the journey unfolds, Radu-Mihai Tănasă reveals a much deeper story about migration, work, and belonging.
The film follows a masked delivery courier transporting a large stone across the city during a work shift. What begins as a simple task gradually becomes a meditation on irregular migration, platform-based labour, and the emotional realities of living and working in conditions of legal and economic uncertainty.
Filmed in low resolution on an old Canon camera, Home. Delivered. embraces the visual language of what artist and writer Hito Steyerl describes as the “poor image”—a deliberately imperfect aesthetic that blurs the boundaries between documentary and fiction. Accompanied by the courier’s internal monologue, the film offers an intimate glimpse into the quiet rhythms, pressures, and moments of reflection that shape precarious working life.
The recurring image of the stone becomes a powerful metaphor, representing not only the physical weight carried by the courier but also the emotional burden of displacement and the search for stability. Through this deceptively simple journey, Tănasă shines a light on the often unseen experiences of migrant workers whose labour keeps cities moving, asking us to reflect on what it means to carry home with you while still searching for somewhere to belong.

Radu-Mihai Tănasă (b. 1999, Iași, Romania) is a visual artist whose interdisciplinary practice spans video, performance, installation, drawing and printmaking. Working across personal and collective narratives, his work explores themes of cultural dysphoria, Balkan identity, migration and memory, often examining how these experiences shape contemporary understandings of belonging and selfhood.
Tănasă holds a BA in Visual Arts from the George Enescu National University of Arts in Iași and an MA in Visual Arts and Post-Contemporary Practice from the Master Institute of Visual Cultures in ’s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. His projects frequently combine speculative storytelling with research-based approaches, creating immersive environments that invite audiences to reflect on identity, cultural inheritance and the experience of living between places.
Through what he describes as “Balkan-fiction,” Tănasă reimagines traditions, stereotypes and cultural memory through contemporary media, opening space for alternative narratives that challenge fixed notions of identity and belonging.
