Chinese legendary musician and poet Yan Jun is joined by Dirty Electronics in an evening of provocations, noise, text and collective contortions.
Yan Jun, musician and poet. Born in lanzhou in 1973. Based in beijing. He is working on improvised music, experimental music, field recording, organizing and writing. Alongside performing at venues, he goes to audience’s homes to play with the environment and what else is available in the room (Living Room Tour project). He does noise hypnotizing for small audiences at any place and amplifies body movements or other performative elements in a simple manner. He is member of FEN, Tea Rockers Quintet and Impro Committee, a regular contributor to the Wire Magazine and founder of the guerrilla label Sub Jam.
Dirty Electronics focus on shared experiences, ritual, gesture, touch and social interaction. In Dirty Electronics, process and performance are inseparably bound. The ‘performance’ begins on the workbench devising instruments and is extended onto the stage through playing and exploring these instruments. Dirty Electronics have produced two hand-held synths for mute records. featuring john richards, neal spowage, dushume, steve jones, max wainwright and special guests.
