Splashgirl is a Norwegian piano trio that established their own genre – drone jazz – through six highly acclaimed albums.
Their personal dark instrumentals are rooted in jazz and improvised music, but with ambient, postrock and electronic music seamlessly weaved into the mix. Their music is open and rich in detail with a powerful engine pushing the music slowly forward with a hypnotic drive and transcendental potential.
Splashgirls collaboration with producer Randall Dunn (Earth/Sunn O))))/Marissa Nadler) on their lastest three albums have gained them increasingly international attention, resulting in concerts throughout Europe, Japan and in the US, as well as rave reviews from all over the globe.
Parachute for Gordo are an independent rock band from the thriving cultural capital of Aldershot in Hampshire; making post-rock with an ecstatic grin on its stupid, sweaty face. They explore a sunshine spin on the genre, their math-fused meanderings chock full of a jaunty and infectious positivity. Parachute for Gordo is Laura Lee (guitars, pedals), John Harvey (bass, “vocals”) and Mark Glaister (drums, production).
Parachute for Gordo have played extensively around the country with bands such as And So I Watch You From Afar, Jamie Lenman, The 1975, Physics House Band, Gallops and Adam Betts. They have played live on BBC Introducing The South, appeared at the Victorious and Always the Sun festivals and have been featured in Music Tech magazine and on sites like Already Heard, Punktastic and The Skinny.
