Discussion

Wednesday Canvass: 2019 after 1989

We invited The Digital Diaspora artist Anna Jochymek, academic researcher Alexandra Bulat (UCL SSEES), artist Aron Rossman-Kiss and Jon Bloomfield, author of Our City: Migration and the Making of Modern Birmingham, to discuss how we can think about unity and division in the time of Brexit, which also coincides with the 30th anniversary of the end of communist regimes in Central-East Europe.

The Digital Diaspora is an exhibition organised in collaboration with Short Circuit Project and Studio 44. Based on the topics of unity and division, this timely project lays particular emphasis on Europe as its arrival marks 30 years of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the subsequent overthrow of Communist rule.
