Artist talk - Pavel Braila and Berenika Partum

Pavel and Berenika are going to be discussing issues of the newest exhibition at Centrala from their studios in Berlin (Germany) and Chișinău (Moldova).This event takes place at Centrala, but is going to be also streamed online. There is limited number of on-site tickets for the talk due to COVID19 safety rules. You will still be able to interact with Pavel and Berenika - we welcome you to watch the stream on facebook and ask questions under the video.

Pavel Brăila lives and works in Chișinău and Berlin. He is an internationally renowned figure and has contributed to Documenta (2002 and 2017) and other festivals such as Manifesta 10. Since the mid-1990s his works have been shown in numerous international group and solo exhibitions.
Braila’s practice covers a wide range of media, often drawing inspiration from his home country Moldovia. The transformation and modernization process that Moldova is still undergoing, especially in the last years which has been extremely difficult. In films, installations, photographs and performances, the artist explores the complex geopolitical situation of a country on the “periphery of the centre” in Europe.

Berenika Partum is a curator, critic, and art historian and the Program Director & Co-President of the ARTUM Foundation. Her professional experiences are centred around artist management, exhibition organisation and project management. For more than 20 years she has participated in the realisation of numerous international exhibitions such as 18th Biennale of Sydney in 2012, Paris Triennale 2012, Speaking Parts at Raven Raw in London in 2015, Active Poetry at TATE Modern London in 2006, Collected Views from East or West, Generali Foundation in 2004 in Vienna, Gedankenakt ist ein Kunstakt at the Badischer Kunstverein in 2001, among others.
